Nestled in the tropical foliage of Bali’s central highlands, is an artisan food enterprise that is fortunate to be able to work with the natural, renewable riches that grow abundantly around it.

Awani, Bali creates elegant and delicious tropical fruit preserves and condiments on this fabled and fertile island, using the freshest, ripest tropical fruit from our volcanic archipelago.

We started making tropical fruit preserves in 2007. From the outset, our aim has been to showcase the sensational flavours of the many types of tropical fruit that grow abundantly in Indonesia, and across tropical South East Asia.

Working with Tropical Fruit to Create Artisan Preserves

Our work blends the exotic flavours of tropical fruit and the western craft of making preserves by hand in small, open pan batches.

Using a traditional, artisan approach enables us to capture the delicate fragrance that distinguishes tropical fruit from those found in temperate climates.

We place great importance on provenance, sourcing the best and ripest tropical fruit from the Indonesian archipelago and working closely with farmers to ensure the quality of fruit that we need.

Each delivery of tropical fruit that arrives at our kitchen is carefully sorted to ensure that we maintain the fragrant flavours of real tropical fruit in our preserves.

Our Kitchen in the Volcanic Highlands

Our home is in the farming region of Tabanan in the central highlands of Bali, where our kitchen is close to volcanic lakes and where we are surrounded by papayas, pineapples, cacao trees and coffee bushes.

Our flavours are enjoyed by visitors to Bali and we are thrilled that our tropical fruit preserves are now available in independent delis and fine food stores in Britain and recently in Dubai.

We are a small team and are proud to have created a range of distinct products that have won Great Taste and Dalemain World Marmalade Awards in the UK.
